„Ей, близнак!“, Алекс или Сашо – все ще се обърне.
Александър Макавеев, Manager, Vendor Debit, е израснал в семейство с четири деца. Брат близнак – Валентин, още един брат – с 11 месеца по-голям от тях, и сестра – с 3 години и половина по-малка. Самият Алекс вече има дъщеря и засега не си представя как би се справял с още три, въпреки че иска.
В училище с близнака Вальо били в различни гимназии – нарочно, всеки да си опита късмета, въпреки привилегиите, които иначе биха имали – да приемат единия, а да влязат и двамата. Така разделени натрупали повече приятели.
Събрали се в университета. Учили Маркетинг, после магистратура МИО, където окончателно ги объркали кой кой е.
От сложно родословно дърво е Алекс. Води се от София, но дядо му е от село Стежерово, Свищовско. Едната му баба е македонка, а другата – от Чирпан, третата – кореняк софиянка с кирпичена къща в центъра. Пра-пра дядо му е от Русия, а някъде се прокрадва и сръбска жилка.
Aлекс се опитва да вижда живота от ведрата му страна. Вярва и в справедливостта, и в кармата, и в съдбата, и в Господ. Не и в управляващите. По политически теми се пали, има поглед върху партиите, техните действия, решения и грешки. Човек с гражданска позиция, Алекс иска от хората на власт „да се замислят, че техните решения са важни за другите.“ Има идеи, но няма амбиции. Засега.
Ядосва се открито, че тротоарите не са подходящи за детската количка, на нарушенията по пътищата, корупцията и всякакъв вид нередности. Алекс иска да има отговорност и нещата да не се правят през пръсти. Така работи и с хората, за които отговаря в Ingram Micro – oбщо 44-ма. Не обича да казва, че ги „управлява“, а че „взимат решения“ заедно. „Да си отговорен за хора не е толкова страшно, колкото изглежда. Въпросът е да приемеш, че няма как да имаш екип само от отличници – идеята е всички заедно да постигат добри резултати. Някой ще е съвестен до болка, друг ще е силен в комуникациите, трети – в проектите, а твоята роля като мениджър е да им помагаш да се развиват.“
Алекс се опитва да не е емоционален на работа, да е безпристрастен. Харесва я много и държи да използва немския си език, да балансира между целите на компанията и личните желания на хората. Винаги е отворен да го питат. Екипът му се занимава със зареждане на промоции, събиране на вземания, казуси с търговците, маркетинг фактури, дебити, кредити.
В личния си живот пътува, в момента само в България, но обича да опознава чужди култури и държи да се научи да плува. В морето стои на плиткото, но той е висок 190 см., така че неговото плитко не е до коленете. „Не че ме е страх от водата, но за какво ми е да ходя навътре. Не разбирам за какво ходят хората – да се усамотят ли?!“ В трети клас винаги наказвали Алекс и брат му-близнака, че не могат да плуват. „Добре, де, мога да измина 50 метра.“
И все пак – повече обича планината. Кара ски, дори няколко пъти е ходил специално във френски курорти.
Работи от 9-ти клас – нарича го възпитание в многодетно семейство. Работил е в градински център, видеотека, склад на едро, бил е сервитьор, барман, охрана, лепил е плакати, бил е в кетъринг фирма за сватби – организаторската част е силата му.
Бил е и експерт в Министерството на финансите. За шест месеца е живял в Швейцария, по програма Еразъм. Не успял да отиде на бригада в Америка, защото му отказали виза – сбъркал на въпроса дали ще се върне.
Пълен отличник Алекс станал чак в магистратурата, решил го внезапно. Иначе е завършил строителен техникум. Близнакът му Вальо е програмист в Германия, същата професия има и по-големият им брат, а сестра им е актриса. Трябва да уважаваш труда на хората, на всяко ниво, вярва Алекс. „И бездомните хора, и жонгльорите между колите, и бездомните животни – всички имат душа и има нещо малко, което можем да направим.“ Състрадателен е и вярва, че всичко се връща.
Алекс не е бил подготвен за всички трудности в живота, въпреки че ги приема ведро. Особено изпитание били първите месеци след раждането на дъщеря му Мила. Сега на 10 месеца, тя вече му показала какво е „да се чудиш къде да застанеш“. Алекс се шегува, че е взела неговите „по-големи“ ходила. „Родителството е допълнителна отговорност, но ти осмисля живота – виждаш как се смее, как реагира.“ Понякога ѝ пуска LinkedIn Learning обучения, а баба ѝ я отглежда с български песни. Вечер се намесва пак той: с немски рап, испански песни, поп-фолк и танци – „много са ѝ ритмични“, смее се Алекс.
Фен на Марвел, Наруто, Хари Потър, любител на шаха и покера, на първо място обаче слага семейството. Александър Макавеев е израснал в семейство с четири деца, той самият вече има дъщеря. Заради бащинството е станал малко по-предпазлив във всичко. И не разбира защо хората влизат навътре в морето. Но винаги би пътувал за ски до Франция.

Hey, twin brother!
„Hey, twin brother!“, Alex or Sasho – he would react anyway.
Alexander Makaveev, Manager, Vendor Debit, grew up in a family with four children. He has a twin brother – Valentin, another brother, 11 months older than them, and a sister – three and a half years younger. Alex himself already has a daughter and from this perspective, it is difficult for him to imagine three more kids.
Alex and Valio were in different schools – on purpose. Although in the Bulgarian school system they would be privileged as twins, they decided to test their luck and apply for different schools. So, separated, they made more friends.
At university, they came back together. They studied Marketing, then International Economics Relations as a Master’s degree. At that time everyone else got officially confused who is who.
Alex has a complex family tree. He was born in Sofia, but his grandfather is from the village of Strazharovo (near Svishtov). One of his grandmothers is Macedonian, the other one – from Chirpan, and another one – born and bred in a mudbrick house in the center of Sofia. His great-great-grandfather is from Russia and there is still a place for some Serbian origin in the family.
Alex tries seeing life from the merry angle. He believes in justice, karma, faith, and God. But not in the governing parties. Politics makes him passionate, he has an idea of what the parties in the country are, as well as their decisions, actions, and mistakes. Alex has a strong public opinion. What he expects from the political powers, is „to think about their actions and their consequences on the life of the others.” He has some political ideas, but no ambitions. For now.
Alex is mad about sidewalks not being adapted for strollers; or about road violations; or corruption and all kinds of irregularities. 
He likes having things in order and not half-made. This is how Alex works with all the 44 people at Ingram Micro he is responsible for. He says he doesn’t “manage” them but makes decisions together with them. „Being responsible for other people is not as scary as it seems. It is a matter of acceptance that there is no way to have a team of only excellent students. The idea is they all achieve good results together. Some of them would be conscious, others will be good at communication, others – at managing projects. So, your role as a manager would be to support them in their development.”
Alex tries to be neutral and not too emotional at work. He likes his job a lot and wants to practice his German language, to balance between the company’s goals and people’s motivation. His door is always open for questions. Аlex’s team deals with loading promotions, claims, various vendor cases, invoicing, marketing, debits, credits.
He is sometimes wrong, like everyone else in the world. At work Alex is persistent. In his personal life, he likes traveling, recently in Bulgaria, and getting to know new cultures. He wants to learn how to swim. In the sea, he stays in the shallows. However, he is 1.90 m. tall, so his “shallows” is not the same as it is for other people. „Not that I am afraid of the water but going into the deep doesn’t make sense for me. I can’t understand what the others find in this – being alone, or what?” In 3rd grade in school, Alex and his twin brother were always punished for not being able to swim. “Ok, I’m not that bad, I can swim 50 meters.”
He still loves the mountains more than the sea. A passionate skier, he went several times to French resorts because of that.
Alex has been working since he was in 9th grade – he explains this with the four children in the family. He worked in a garden center, as a waiter, bar-tender, security guard, in a video shop, warehouse, catering company for organizing weddings – the organizational skills are his strength.
Alex spent a year as an expert in the Ministry of Finance. He lived in Switzerland for six months on an Erasmus program. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it to the work and travel program in the USA because he gave the wrong answer to the question: “Will you come back to Bulgaria?”
During Alex’s Master’s degree, he suddenly realized he would like to be an excellent student. Before that he graduated from a construction school. His twin brother Valio is a programmer in Germany, just like their older brother. His sister is an actress. “Everyone, at every level, needs your respect”, Alex says. „Homeless people or animals, or the clowns between the cars in the traffic – they all have souls, and we can do something kind for them.” Alex is empathetic and believes in balance – what comes around, goes around.
Alex has not been prepared for all the difficulties in his life, although he chooses the merry angle. The first months after his daughter’s Mila birth were a great challenge. Now, already 10-months-old, she has taught him what it’s like to “wonder where I can stand”. Alex jokes that she inherited his “larger” feet. “Parenting means more responsibility, but it makes sense for your life – you see how the child smiles and reacts.” Sometimes he plays LinkedIn Learning trainings for her, and her grandmother brings her up with Bulgarian songs. In the evening, it’s Alex’s turn again: with German hip-hop, Spanish music, pop-folk, and dances – “she likes the rhythm”, he laughs.
Alex is a Marvel, Naruto, and Harry Potter fan, a chess and poker lover. However, family is always first. Alexander Makaveev was raised in a family with four children. He already has a daughter, and it is difficult for him to imagine what it is like to have three more children. Parenting made him more cautious, so he can’t understand why people go into the deep sea. However, he would go skiing in France with great pleasure.
